Our purpose is to create among persons and organizations similarly worried about the current non-sustainability of human society in an overloaded natural and social context, a network-without-frontierswhose members will, as equal partners, jointly attempt:

to define precisely the world problematique

and to act accordingly to launch a self expanding process of resolution of this problematique,
at best chances of effectiveness and efficiency,

before it becomes unmanageable,
or before it gets too costly in destruction and casualties

for a solution to be possible.

We, members of the Network for a Common Future in Sustainability (NetCFS) a non-governmental organization created in 2001 for that purpose ,

call on you, your friends and acquaintances, who perhaps are equally worried about our chances for a viable common future,
personally to apply for participation in the Network-without-Frontiers which we are opening

and if possible, to connect us with the networks you already may be participating in,
wherever you are on the planet and however active you and your groups may be.

Based on years of research, experience and lessons drawn from these, we think that:

provided we think and act within a dynamic cooperation among partners;
jointly address systematically and resolutely the questions we all are faced with and which most people tend to shun,
with the courage to examine and take practically into consideration, the incredibly high set of handicaps we are facing.

there are real possibilities to effectively change course toward a sustainable world, and on time, i.e., before it is too late and too costly in casualties and destruction.

We propose that you go to the presentation pages of the three interrelated lines of action we are focusing on and make your choice of those you feel best capable and willing to take part in:
One of them is directly linked to acute local, regional or sub-regional issues that already worry the residents of a specific locality or region.

Another one,where we address citizens worried with local and regional designed to help them improve, at municipal and regional levels, the perceptions, understandings of key issues by as many citizens as possible and their commitment to effective civic action, with account of the much wider, global non-sustainability.

A third option, much more theoretical but still essential, focuses on a critical examination of important questions related to the ability of the current civilizational structure and processes, to generate from the inside, measures that would manage, then eliminate at least additional destruction and casualties, the fundamental threats to our common future that stem from society's worsening global non-sustainability.
